The first International Conference on Practice Research in Salisbury in 2008 laid the foundation for future conferences and statements, and the establishment of the International Community of Practice Research in Social Work. Each subsequent conference, including Helsinki, New York, Hong Kong, Melbourne, and Aalborg have contributed to the evolving definition of practice research, emphasizing the involvement of practitioners, service users, researchers, and other stakeholders. We are excited that the next International Practice Research Conference will be held in Singapore on 7th to 9th July 2026.

We warmly invite you to Singapore, the Garden City of Asia, to immerse yourself in the vibrant culture and sunny hospitality of our island nation as we engage in rich and meaningful conversations on practice research alongside colleagues around the world.

About the Conference Motif – Orchids

For ICPR7 2026, the orchid serves as a powerful symbol of both diversity and resilience – core values in practice research. With thousands of distinct species, the orchid reflects the wide range of perspectives, methodologies, and contexts that shape the diverse and dynamic field of practice research.

We also honour the Vanda Miss Joaquim, Singapore’s national flower, as a tribute to our host country’s vibrant heritage and enduring commitment to adaptation, innovation, and growth.
