REFERRING FRIENDS/ FAMILY
Although referrals can be made by concerned family members, friends or other professionals, the Centre would require the referred individual to call or apply personally. This is to enable us to assign the most appropriate therapist to him/ her for the issues presented.
A referral report may be required from professionals making the referral. The therapist may also require the professional who had referred the client to have a discussion of the agreed goal.
OBTAINING CONSENT FOR CHILDREN AND TEENS BELOW 18
Those under the age of 16 years would need to be accompanied by one parent or related adult family member for the first session. The parent or related adult family member will only be invited into the session following a discussion with the adolescent or child.
Children and adolescents (below 18 years old) are required to obtain consent from parents/ or legal guardians for counselling. In addition to the child’s or adolescent’s particulars on the registration form, parents/ legal guardians have to provide their particulars.
