Effective supervision involves not only technical competence but also interpersonal skills, cultural awareness, and a commitment to professional growth.
The trainers will address the common challenges in supervision:

- Can you give me an example of a supervisory relationship?

It aims to prepare participants to become supervisors in the social and medical care settings. It will seek to equip participants with knowledge and skills to allow them to transit from being a clinician to a supervisor. Participants would be introduced to basic concepts of supervision and professional ethics of being a supervisor. This course would also impart practical skills such as giving feedback, dealing with disagreements from supervisees and how to manage the challenges of being a supervisor.
Applicant Requirements
The course is relevant for:
- Aspiring Supervisors: Who may have experience in their respective fields but are new to the supervisory role. These practitioners come from diverse backgrounds (e.g., psychology, education, nursing) and are transitioning into supervisory roles.
- Social Workers: Who play a crucial role in various settings, including healthcare, community services, and child welfare and their expertise in understanding social issues, client advocacy, and case management.
- Supervisors: Who are experienced professionals who guide and mentor others in their field.

Teaching and Learning Strategies
Trainees will be engaged in the learning process with lectures, small group discussions led by an experienced team of Therapists and Assoicate Therapists from CCC, and experiential exercises.
We are planning for the course to be conducted in our premises. However, in the event that the pandemic worsens and that we are unable to, we will conduct the training online via the zoom platform. We will make these arrangements as soon as there is clarity about what is safe.
Requirements for Completion
PCS does not have an assignment component. However, to be awarded the Certificate in PCS, the Trainees must attain at least 80% of attendance of the total course hours (28 Hours).
